How often do we read God’s word and miss the tiny details of our Creator? Here’s an example. Amos is asked what he sees, “A basket full of ripe fruit”, he replies. Most people keep reading, never giving this a thought. What we miss is this: God knows everything about us, what we do, think, say, and feel. He knows how we see the world and how we learn. Here He gives Amos a vision. He uses a basket filled with ripe fruit. Why? Because Amos is a fig farmer. What better way to communicate with someone than use something they already understand. It makes an instant connection, and leaves no room for ambiguity. This is a trait God uses throughout scripture. He uses what we already understand to take us deeper into knowing His character. Just another quality about God that shows His love and holiness that makes Him One of a Kind, with no equal.
Then the Sovereign Lord showed me another vision. In it I saw a basket filled with ripe fruit. 2 “What do you see, Amos?” He asked. I replied, “A basket full of ripe fruit.”
