You hear people cry out to the government for help when tragedy happens. One school shooting after another. Every single time the people want gun control legislation. They want guns banned, thinking it’s the guns that kill people. What they fail to realize is that it takes a human being to point the gun at another human being and pull the trigger. The problem isn’t guns. It’s the evilness in their hearts. It’s the sinful human nature in all of us. It’s not until each person comes to the realization that the only way to conquer this evil is to have a heart transplant, the violence will end. God is the only one that can replace a stony heart with a heart of flesh. It’s only then, can a man love another, that will end the hatred and evilness in his own heart. And it’s only God Who can perform the procedure.
20 And then He added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you. 21 For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder,22 adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.23 All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”
Mark 7:20-23
25 “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. 27 And I will put My Spirit in you so that you will follow My decrees and be careful to obey My regulations.
