I think the biggest problem with man is his inability to comprehend and except the sovereignty of God. I mean who are we to think we own anything? Who are we to tell others what to do when we ourselves don’t really know how to do it? And who are we to step in and attempt to play God? When it’s all said and done, everything we own will belong to someone else. All of our knowledge will be useless. And in our attempts to be in control, we will lose it. The world continues to move on, after we are gone. Someone will replace you at your job. You’ll be a distant memory, only held by those you’ve touched in a special way. God’s sovereignty needs to be taken seriously. We need to act accordingly to it. When we do, humility and obedience follow.
“Yes, I will drive you out of office,” says the Lord. “I will pull you down from your high position. 20 And then I will call My servant Eliakim son of Hilkiah to replace you. 21 I will dress him in your royal robes and will give him your title and your authority. And he will be a father to the people of Jerusalem and Judah. 22 I will give him the key to the house of David–the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them
