Job responds to his (so called) friend Bildad with a question all believers need to ask themselves daily. “Whose Spirit speaks through you?” It can only be one of three answers. It’s either the Holy Spirit, our own spirit, or Satan’s spirit. Whichever answer fits, I can guarantee the status of your life, your joy, peace, and purpose are either thriving, suffering, or stagnating because of it. Are you full of yourself? Pursuing worldly things? Or following the Creator? How do you treat people? Like they are important or just someone in the way of getting what you want? Are you so focused on yourself that depression and anxiety pay you a visit daily? If you are a believer, God’s Spirit must be welcomed by making room for Him. And Jesus told us how to do this. We must die to self, take up our cross, and follow Him. Who’s Spirit is speaking through you?
4 Where have you gotten all these wise sayings? Whose spirit speaks through you?
Job 26:4
