Here’s something you probably never thought of before: when Jesus’ name is mentioned, people react in different ways. Some will rejoice, knowing what He did for them. Some will oppose, knowing that He will be the One that condemns them. And some will be indifferent, not caring at all, which reveals they stand with the opposers. One thing is true about the name of Jesus, when it is mentioned, it will stir the hearts of people revealing more about the condition of their hearts, and unveiling which side of the cross they stand on. There’s no neutrality when it comes to Jesus. You are either with/for Him, or you’re against Him. Never assume when you talk about Jesus it will be welcomed, people won’t have the same reaction that you do. Every time you mention His name, there will be joy or opposition. Don’t ever expect any thing else. Be prepared for every conversation you have in which Jesus is the topic. God will give you the words to say (when you ask), just prepare yourself for the response.
33 Jesus’ parents were amazed at what was being said about Him. 34 Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, the baby’s mother, “This child is destined to cause many in Israel to fall, but He will be a joy to many others. He has been sent as a sign from God, but many will oppose Him. 35 As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your very soul.”
Luke 2:33-35
