With all that’s going on in America today (As of July 7, 2020), the rioting, looting, the violent protests, the destruction of statues, etc... only time will tell if these plans were made with good counsel. If they were, then it should make a positive change. If they weren’t, the ill-gotten gain these vigilantes think they’ve accomplished, will be to their own demise. History tells us which plans were made with wise counsel and which were not. Making plans without God, or not doing things His way, will never be considered in the “good counsel” realm. As another proverb states, “man may make his plans, but it’s God Who determines the outcome” (my paraphrase). When you see a cause on the news, you must always ask yourself, “what’s the motive, what’s driving this movement”? If it’s going to divide by means of violence and destruction, it probably isn’t of good counsel. If it’s selfish and steps on the toes of peaceful, law-abiding citizens, it probably isn’t of good counsel. If it isn’t driven by truth spoken in love, it definitely isn’t of good counsel. Before you begin a task or good to war, you must always weigh the cost. If it’s not of good counsel, it isn’t worth doing!
18 Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice.
Proverbs 20:18
