Our Goal is to Please God First…..

Always remember when we are witnessing the Truth to people, our goal is to point others to Jesus, but your purpose is to please God. This should keep you grounded (humble) and prepared. You’re not here to please men, even though that’s what might happen. You’re here to please the One who gave you life. You’re goal is to please God by doing His will, His way. People always benefit when they are part of His plan.

4 For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts. 1 Thessalonians 2:4

Christian Catalyst…

In a society devoid of God, we as believers, must continue to influence others. And we must do our best, by asking God, for them not to influence us. We must insulate ourselves with the wisdom and grace of God, in order to be effective witnesses, while not allowing the ungodly to effect us. In effect, we must be a catalyst for God. A catalyst causes a reactions without being effected itself. Think of yourself as a Christian Catalyst.

If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be My spokesman. You must influence them;do not let them influence you!20 They will fight against you like an attacking army, but I will make you as secure as a fortified wall of bronze. They will not conquer you,for I am with you to protect and rescue you.I, the Lord, have spoken!21 Yes, I will certainly keep you safe from these wicked men.I will rescue you from their cruel hands.” Jeremiah 15:19c-21

Be More Heartfelt in Your Relationships…

If you’re a woman, think of a time you were given a bottle of perfume. When you opened it your senses were stimulated with pleasure. You thought, “I love this aroma, I feel beautiful when I wear it.” Now if you’re a man, think of your wife or girlfriend entering a room. You get a brief smell of an aroma that lights up your senses. That aroma makes the woman in your sights even more attractive. STOP, we are not talking about lust here! CONTINUE. For me, when I think of an aroma that tantalizer’s my senses, I think of barbecuing on the grill or the peach tree blossoms in the Spring filling the air. Whatever comes to your mind while you are reading this, I hope it’s something that brings back great memories, stimulating the seratonin in your brain, creating a rush of “AHHHHHHH” (awe). This is what being a friend who is in tune with you makes you feel. There’s no amount of money in the world that can buy that kind of loyalty. Are you that kind of friend? Do you have a friend like that? Whatever the case, ask God today to help make you more heartfelt in your relationships. Be that sweet aroma that stimulates the senses of your friends. When you do, you’ll find it reciprocating back to you.

9 The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense. Proverbs 27:9

The True Test of Our Faith Is….

The true test of your faith is the authenticity of being honest with yourself. Even after fair judgement, the Psalmist knows his place and still honors God. Are you able to say this? Are you close to this place in your sanctified walk with the Lord? If not, what’s holding you back?

Songs of joy and victory are sung in the camp of the godly. The strong right arm of the Lord has done glorious things!16 The strong right arm of the Lord is raised in triumph. The strong right arm of the Lord has done glorious things!17 I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the Lord has done.18 The Lord has punished me severely, but He did not let me die. 19 Open for me the gates where the righteous enter, and I will go in and thank the Lord.20 These gates lead to the presence of the Lord, and the godly enter there.21 I thank You for answering my prayer and giving me victory! Psalms 118:15c-21

We Get What Our Behavior Asks For….

When you treat God like a stranger, He eventually becomes one. You can’t abuse God, abandoning Him, then when tough times come, expect Him to be there to rescue you. That’s bad theology. God is far beyond our understanding, but He does have traits like human beings. Yes, His patience and tolerance are much deeper than ours, but abuse Him long enough, and He will leave you high and dry, to fend for yourself. We get what our behavior asks for.

7 The people say, “Our wickedness has caught up with us, Lord, but help us for the sake of Your own reputation. We have turned away from Youand sinned against You again and again.8 O Hope of Israel, our Savior in times of trouble, why are You like a stranger to us?Why are You like a traveler passing through the land, stopping only for the night? Jeremiah 14:7-8

10 So this is what the Lord says to His people: “You love to wander far from Me and do not restrain yourselves. Therefore, I will no longer accept you as My people. Now I will remember all your wickedness and will punish you for your sins.” Jeremiah 14:10

Strong snd Perfect…

Is this something you’ve ever prayed for? To be strong and perfect? To be fully confident that you are following the whole will of God?

12 Epaphras, a member of your own fellowship and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you his greetings. He always prays earnestly for you, asking God to make you strong and perfect, fully confident that you are following the whole will of God. 13 I can assure you that he prays hard for you and also for the believers in Laodicea and Hierapolis. Colossians 4:12-13

In the Backseat…

When we focus on God, and get our focus off our own selfish desires, we are free to make the most of every opportunity with non-believers. When our selfishness is in the backseat, it allows us to be gracious and kind, where our behavior becomes attractive to others. Giving us the opportunity to to have the right response for everyone.

5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. Colossians 4:5-6

The Attitude We Should Have….

The attitude we all should have at work and at home is this: we are serving God first, other’s second, and self last. I wonder what all those promoting “self-love” would say to this?

23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Colossians 3:23

Trials are Necessary….

Trials are necessary. They refine us, to prepare us for when God uses us for His future plans.

Buying Into Lies….

As believers we cannot buy into the lies that society tries to pass off as truth. All the arguments for, justifications for, and implied acceptances are not to be incorporated into our beliefs. Any thing that goes against God, that violates His character, are to be shunned away. God doesn’t change. If it’s listed in the OT and the NT, then it’s clear that it’s not a practice acceptable to God. If you’re a non-believer, I guess anything goes for you. But if you are a believer, you can’t be a pretender as well (they can’t co-exist). Believers follow God, by trusting Him, taking Him at His Word. What the world wants is for us to accept them and any behaviors they participate in. Believers know that God has a plan, a way of doing things; it’s our way to live. No matter how bad someone wants you to accept their behavior, we must stand firm to what God says it right, and beneficial to our own good. Evil is not something we are to accept. Once we do, we break the bond with our Creator, and consequences follow. If you rejoice in doing evil, you are only pretending when you call God your father.

15 “What right do My beloved people have to come to My Temple, when they have done so many immoral things? Can their vows and sacrifices prevent their destruction? They actually rejoice in doing evil! Jeremiah 11:15

6 Even your brothers, members of your own family, have turned against you. They plot and raise complaints against you. Do not trust them, no matter how pleasantly they speak. Jeremiah 12:6

Sin Loses It’s Appeal When…

When we are close to God, full of His Spirit, sin loses its appeal. But when we turn our backs on God, and are empty, we try filling up on anything that is appealing. Notice the contrast. Sin is only appealing when it has no rival. It’s like holding a dime in front of your eye, totally blocking the view of s majestic mountain range. That tiny object when taken out of perspective, controls our entire view of the world. But move that dime further away, and your perspective changes. That dime is no longer perceived as a big sight-blocker. Now you see the majesty of the mountain range and small size of the dime. Once we draw near to God, we see His majesty, and sin loses its appeal.

An Honest Prayer….

An honest prayer, coming from someone who truly knows God. How do I know this? This prayer contains humility, reverence, and sincerity. It acknowledges weakness, the inability to fix it on their own, and a plead for mercy. But the most important aspect of this part of the prayer is the recognition that God loves him, and knows his place, which reveals the confidence and trust to present this request to Him to be gentle in his weakness.

23 I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course. 24 So correct me, Lord, but please be gentle. Do not correct me in anger, for I would die. Jeremiah 10:23-24

If God Doesn’t Want a Relationship…

One of my favorite verses in all of scripture. If God doesn’t want a relationship with us, why would He tell us to know Him, to understand Him, and emulate His Character?

23 This is what the Lord says:“Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom,or the powerful boast in their power,or the rich boast in their riches.24 But those who wish to boastshould boast in this alone:that they truly know Me and understand that I am the Lordwho demonstrates unfailing loveand who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things.I, the Lord, have spoken! Jeremiah 9:23-24

Rules Never Conquer….

Rules have never helped in conquering a person’s evil desires. Think about that for a minute. No matter how strict someone is at adhering to rules, staying within the boundaries, or doing the right thing, rules will not save you. They (rules) will never mend a broken heart, and never make us right with God. Never. Jesus is the only One worthy of the task of making us right with God. Once He does that for us, we become “saved” and are given new hearts. Exciting and worthy news, isn’t it?

20 You have died with Christ, and He has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, 21 “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? 22 Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. 23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires. Colossians 2:20-23

The Gospel Simplified…

The Gospel simplified. It couldn’t be more clear. Paul nailed it. Now believe it, and go out and live it.

13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, He disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by His victory over them on the cross. Colossians 2:13-15

What Does True Christianity Look Like?

What does True Christianity look like? What does it resemble? What’s some things believers are to do to be in and know God’s will? 1. continue to follow Him 2. Build your life around Him 3. Know Him, and imitate Him 4. Thankfulness follows 5. Don’t allow others to deceive you with philosophies that don’t make any sense and that go against God 6. Realize Christ makes you whole and complete; you don’t need any foreign entity or possession to make you complete, you already aren’t Jesus

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. 7 Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. 9 For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. 10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.11 When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision–the cutting away of your sinful nature. Colossians 2:6-11

So People Won’t Be Deceived….

Recently, with elections coming up, I’ve seen quite a few people promoting things that go against what the Bible says is wrong, and yet claim it’s biblical to do so. Why do believers share biblical truth with others? So people won’t be deceived. Here’s an example, using the abortion issue. Pro-choice or Pro-life? If life is precious once it’s conceived, how is it justifiable to argue that life isn’t life until it leaves the womb? How is it okay to stop life, because it’s inconvenient? Here’s a question and logical path to understanding my point. Where does a man come from? Answer, a little boy. If you eliminate a little boy, you eliminate the man. The only factor that’s relevant is time. It takes time for a boy to become a man, even though it’s the same blood, flesh, brain, name, etc... this is as far as I’m going to take this argument, because we all know a baby is human when it’s conceived, because we know this baby has parents; it takes a man and woman to produce and child. And we know that this baby is alive, because it’s growing. So when you stop a baby from continuing to develop inside of his/her mother’s womb, you are stopping a live human being from continuing to develop. Some call it killing, while others call it murder. If you say it’s just a fetus, you are exactly right. Fetus is the Latin word for baby. People will always try to justify or rationalize evil, because they hate the truth, and thus hate God. If God hates hands that shed innocent blood, then it’s common sense to reject God and all those that declare sinful behavior being wrong. Who wants to be told what to do, right? It’s only through deception, that evil can be called good, and good called evil. Anyway, back to my point. We, as believers must never get tired of doing what is right. People need to hear the truth. Our job is to continue to present the truth, but do it with gentleness and respect. That way, when we stand before God, we will not have any regrets, guilt, or shame because of our boldness and concern with others, not wanting them to be deceived.

2 I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ Himself. 3 In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.4 I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments. Colossians 2:2-4

A True Friend Loves….

A true friend loves you enough to tell you the truth, even if it hurts. A true friend loves you enough that when he does it, he is gentle and respectful in the process. Laying it all on the table, being transparent with each other, is the key to long lasting relationships. Even though we may not see through the pain of a rebuke, if we receive it with an honest and humble heart, we begin to see the misinterpreted “hurtful and selfish” retort from a loved one, as medicine to heal our deadly disease. Never underestimate the love of a friend, especially when he is brutally, but respectfully honest with you. If you truly love someone, you care enough to present the truth to them, even if it hurts. For Jesus, Himself, said, “the truth shall set you free”. Thank God for honest, respectful, and truthful friends.

5 An open rebuke is better than hidden love! 6 Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. Proverbs 27:5-6

World Peace….

You’ve probably watched a beauty pageant like Miss America, or Miss USA and witnessed a contestant answering the annual question with, “I wish for world peace”. It’s a great notion or gesture, but is it really possible? Is it possible for a world full in sinners to get along and live in peace? Nope. Why do I say this? Where do I draw my conclusion from? God, Himself. If the nature of man is hostile towards God, and according to the Bible, the only remedy is found in Jesus, then how can a large number of people, sharing the planet, live in peace, when they don’t know the Source (where peace comes from)? If Jesus is the Source of peace, reconciling us back to God, how can people have peace when they either reject Jesus, or not take the time to know Him? The only way peace will ever fill the earth, is when the earth is renewed by God, under a new Heaven and a new earth (with all the rebellious, anti-God people are removed). Am I saying that this is no chance for peace to an individual? Of course not, because Jesus can grant you peace in your heart when you receive Him through repentance and place your faith and trust in Him alone. So to summarize; is it possible for the world to have peace? Not without Christ.

11 They offer superficial treatments for My people’s mortal wound. They give assurances of peace when there is no peace. Jeremiah 8:11

The Biggest Effect Sin Has On Us….

Here’s the biggest effect sin has on an individual: it eliminates the ability to say “I’m sorry”. By going against the truth, you not only lose the ability to apologize, you lose the only thing necessary to sustain relationships. As infallible human beings, once we lose the ability to mend relationships (through repentance with contrition), it’s impossible to have deep, meaningful connections with people due to our lack of honesty, our unwillingness to make a wrong into a right, and our lack of concern for others. Sin causes our pride (selfishness) to blind us to the truth. It turns all of our focus towards protecting and preserving ourselves. Unless we “get out of our own way”, we will eventually crash the cars of our lives due to the inability to see the road ahead. It’s almost like driving in the dark without your headlights on; you can try to feel your way around, but as you pick up speed, your chances of crashing into something rise higher and higher. Sin focuses us solely on self, and guarantees to desensitize us to the most important things on earth, our relationships. Go stand in front of a mirror, right now, and ask yourself, is my pride, my self-preservation, “my saving face”, my sin, worth the inability to relate? If this bothers you, or you find yourself slipping into this type of behavior, then do something about. Do something about right now. God is ready to listen, and rescue you from your own, self-inflicted demise.

4 “Jeremiah, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord says: “ ‘When people fall down, don’t they get up again? When they discover they’re on the wrong road, don’t they turn back?5 Then why do these people stay on their self-destructive path? Why do the people of Jerusalem refuse to turn back? They cling tightly to their liesand will not turn around.6 I listen to their conversationsand don’t hear a word of truth. Is anyone sorry for doing wrong?Does anyone say, “What a terrible thing I have done”?No! All are running down the path of sinas swiftly as a horse galloping into battle!7 Even the stork that flies across the skyknows the time of her migration,as do the turtledove, the swallow, and the crane. They all return at the proper time each year. But not My people! They do not know the Lord’s laws. 8 “ ‘How can you say, “We are wise because we have the word of the Lord,”when your teachers have twisted it by writing lies?9 These wise teachers will fallinto the trap of their own foolishness, for they have rejected the word of the Lord. Are they so wise after all? Jeremiah 8:4-9

Honoring God with Consistency....

God always warns before He disciplines. It’s our job as Christians (Christ followers) to speak the truth to a rebellious world. Even if they don’t listen, we have to continue to speak truth. It’s God’s will, it’s His consistency in warning others. We honor God by being obedient in speaking and displaying truth. We must always remember to do it with gentleness and respect. It’s not easy, but you will be honoring God in your consistency.

24 “But My people would not listen to Me. They kept doing whatever they wanted, following the stubborn desires of their evil hearts. They went backward instead of forward. 25 From the day your ancestors left Egypt until now, I have continued to send My servants, the prophets–day in and day out. 26 But My people have not listened to Me or even tried to hear. They have been stubborn and sinful–even worse than their ancestors.27 “Tell them all this, but do not expect them to listen. Shout out your warnings, but do not expect them to respond. 28 Say to them, ‘This is the nation whose people will not obey the Lord their God and who refuse to be taught. Truth has vanished from among them; it is no longer heard on their lips. 29 Shave your head in mourning, and weep alone on the mountains. For the Lord has rejected and forsaken this generation that has provoked His fury.’ Jeremiah 7:24-29

Harming Ourselves....

How many vices are out there that lead to our own demise? Smoking, drinking, drugs, eating disorders, sexual practices, and gambling, to name a few. The Bible, here in Jeremiah chapter 7, states idolatry falls into this category. God says you harm yourself by worshipping idols. Somehow, when we try to replace God with anything, we create turmoil inside of ourselves, that eventually leads to “harming” ourselves. I can’t fully explain this, but I can tell you this: any time we draw close to God, then have a bout of selfish behavior in which He is no longer the priority, we have to go through a painful, spiritual process in order to get back. Think of it like the process of refining gold. In order to get the impurities out, gold has to be refined. The heat burns all of the sludge and non-gold properties off, by separating them through the effects of heat. It’s a rough process, but necessary for the pure gold to emerge. And so it’s like this when we try to replace God with all kinds of “little gods” of this world: fame, fortune, friends, etc... The spiritual impurities build up, and begin to make us into a compound that devalues the pure gold inside. Then God must burn off those impurities (if He sees fit), thus causing us more pain (though it’s necessary). Idolatry is a self-destructive practice. It seems harmless, until the discomfort of the necessary fiery furnace comes calling your name in order to restore what you have made impure. It’s a harmful practice that is totally unnecessary. And worse yet, we offend God by doing this. If that doesn’t light your fire, your wood must be wet. When we keep our priorities in the forefront of our minds, and ask God to protect us from the deceptions of the world, we never have to face the effects of the self-inflicted furnace of idolatry.

5 But I will be merciful only if you stop your evil thoughts and deeds and start treating each other with justice; 6 only if you stop exploiting foreigners, orphans, and widows; only if you stop your murdering; and only if you stop harming yourselves by worshiping idols. Jeremiah 7:5-6

19 Am I the One they are hurting?” asks the Lord. “Most of all, they hurt themselves, to their own shame.” Jeremiah 7:19

24 “But My people would not listen to Me. They kept doing whatever they wanted, following the stubborn desires of their evil hearts. They went backward instead of forward. Jeremiah 7:24

No Undisciplined Hypocrites...

I wonder if Politicians ever think about their behavior; how they are accountable to their constituents, and more importantly God? I wonder how many people are conscientiously aware they are accountable to God? Enough to refrain from compromising their faith? Here’s one truth we all must accept: God exposes Pride and the Pretender. Always. Their are no undisciplined hypocrites in Heaven.

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says:“ ‘Even now, if you quit your evil ways, I will let you stay in your own land. 4 But don’t be fooled by those who promise you safety simply because the Lord’s Temple is here. They chant, “The Lord’s Temple is here! The Lord’s Temple is here!” 5 But I will be merciful only if you stop your evil thoughts and deeds and start treating each other with justice; 6 only if you stop exploiting foreigners, orphans, and widows; only if you stop your murdering; and only if you stop harming yourselves by worshiping idols. 7 Then I will let you stay in this land that I gave to your ancestors to keep forever.8 “ ‘Don’t be fooled into thinking that you will never suffer because the Temple is here. It’s a lie! 9 Do you really think you can steal, murder, commit adultery, lie, and burn incense to Baal and all those other new gods of yours, 10 and then come here and stand before Me in My Temple and chant, “We are safe!”–only to go right back to all those evils again? 11 Don’t you yourselves admit that this Temple, which bears My name, has become a den of thieves? Surely I see all the evil going on there. I, the Lord, have spoken! 12 “ ‘Go now to the place at Shiloh where I once put the Tabernacle that bore My name. See what I did there because of all the wickedness of My people, the Israelites. 13 While you were doing these wicked things, says the Lord, I spoke to you about it repeatedly, but you would not listen. I called out to you, but you refused to answer. 14 So just as I destroyed Shiloh, I will now destroy this Temple that bears My name, this Temple that you trust in for help, this place that I gave to you and your ancestors. 15 And I will send you out of My sight into exile, just as I did your relatives, the people of Israel.’ Jeremiah 7:3-15

Warning and Teaching...

In today’s society, we are met by those who do not revere God, or think they are responsible to Him. This opposition tends to make us want to retract and let them learn the hard way. But believers have to continue to tell others about Christ. We don’t know who God will choose and who He will reject. We do this by speaking truth, even though most non-believers don’t want to hear it. We are to warn people and teach them all that God has given us. We warn by revealing God’s ways, His commands to us (to love, to respect, to honor). If we are met with vehement opposition, then smile, quote John 3:16, and move on. If we are met with a teachable heart, share all that He has done for you, and point them to Jesus. Our duty is to warn and to teach. That’s it. God will do the rest. And even though we may be met with resistance, we must be obedient in showing God our love for Him.

28 So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. 29 That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me. Colossians 1:28-29

Faith is a Constant Journey....

Faith is a constant journey, one in which we must stay focused on and stay in it. We cannot allow ourselves to wander away, wanting something different. If we do, it’s harder and harder to get back. There are many believers who lose their wonder, their love for God’s word. This is only possible when we fail to stand firm, refusing to drift away from the assurance that only the Gospel brings. It starts with conviction, and comes true with commitment. Are you standing firm? Are you proclaiming it?

23 But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it. Colossians 1:23

Testers of Metal....

People who speak truth, who study God’s word, and connect with Him daily, are called “testers of metal” in Jeremiah chapter 6. Just think, when you graduated from high school or college, you thought, “I’m done with testing”. The reality of it is it’s only begun. What we are made of (the type of character we’re developing), is tested every day with truth. God places people in our lives to question our beliefs, to test our character, and to give us the opportunity to prove our faith, not to Him, but to ourselves.

27 “Jeremiah, I have made you a tester of metals, that you may determine the quality of My people. Jeremiah 6:27

Two Questions for Irrelevant.....

The next time you hear someone say to you, “the Bible is out-dated and old, it’s irrelevant in these modern times”, agree that they are “half right”. It is old, but it’s relevancy is appropriate for all times, including today. Truth doesn’t change. God doesn’t change. This “old way” is the only way we find “rest for our souls”. Ask that person, “where do you find rest for your soul”? And follow up with, “how’s it working for you”?

16 This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’ Jeremiah 6:16

What Words Will You Choose?

The million dollar question, that everyone on will ask themselves at one time or another in this life. What’s your answer? What will be the words you choose to address your Maker? For the believer, Jesus will do the talking for us. The unbeliever, will be at loss for words.

But what will you do when the end comes? Jeremiah 5:31c

Sin Robs Us...

The one thing about sin that we as human beings don’t understand is, though it may be enjoyable at the moment, it robs us of all God’s blessings. It desensitizes us, even remotely, to have the ability to recognize and reap the joy that God’s blessings are meant to have on us. It’s like going into a candy store and choosing bland, unflavored rice cakes over the sweetest, most delicious candy, and thinking “boy, this is good”.

25 Your wickedness has deprived you of these wonderful blessings.Your sin has robbed you of all these good things. Jeremiah 5:25

The Bible- Believing Mindset...

Part of the mindset of a Bible believing, Christ follower is the fact that our trust is in Christ. We rely on what Jesus has already done. And we put no confidence in human effort. We fear God, and not man. This mindset helps determine our priorities on a daily basis. By keeping Jesus in the forefront of our mind, we begin to see the world a little more clearly.
3 For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort, Philippians 3:3
