One of the main reason why I left my job as an educator was because of the lack of discipline. Without accountability, without consequences, there is no proper fear of authority. Teachers become “glorified babysitters”, with the secondary responsibility of “spitting out” information. This information is readily available on any smartphone device these days. Students think, “I can do what I want, because I have the answers in my pocket”. When there’s no discipline, knowledge loses its purpose. When a teacher teaches, they ad experience and wisdom (application) to information. Something that a smartphone can never do. When will people realize that life is all about people; what they bring to the table. Without proper discipline, public education is on a one-way path to self destruction. Justice will be served, but to those that haven’t been disciplined, woe to them when it comes.
11 For I am with you and will save you, ”says the Lord.“ I will completely destroy the nations where I have scattered you, but I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you, but with justice; I cannot let you go unpunished.”
Jeremiah 30:11
