’ve never really understood the thought-process of those who demanded the 10 Commandments be taken out of schools. I know it makes them feel guilty. I know it reminds them of God. What I don’t understand is the notion of telling someone murder is wrong, why it is wrong? When you stop teaching children what is right and what is wrong, how are they supposed to know the difference? And if they don’t know, how can you expect them to behave? People always ask the “why” questions when a tragic shooting at a school happens, but they never put the two together. They don’t want to be told what to do, but then expect to tell others what to do to solve a problem caused by their “not wanting to be told what to do”. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. If they kept the 10 Commandments posted on the walls in schools, and taught them, by holding people accountable when they are violated, I bet there the number of violent shootings would be extremely rare. How do I know this? Because they were written by the Finger of God. They serve a purpose. They point all willing to examine them back to Him. Once they see Jesus, and what He did on the cross, they realize, they are not just words, they are life. They point us to to only remedy for the “sin problem” we all have. They point us to our Savior.
18 When the Lord finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, He gave him the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, written by the finger of God.
Exodus 31:18
