Pride leads us to sin. It’s pride that motivates us to preserve self over others. It’s pride that causes us to rebel. And it’s pride that keeps people out of Heaven. God has consistently told us that He opposes the proud; that He hates pride. Why? Because it’s pride that keeps us from Him. If you want to be closer to God, give yourself a dose of self-administered humility today. It’s the best medicine for a rebellious spirit.
