I do it. You do it. We all do it. It doesn’t mean I like it when I do it. When I take God for granted, it just seems wrong. When I take for granted the things that are supposed to make me grateful and I act in opposition, I wonder why He allows it to happen. One of the reasons Jesus came to earth was to experience what it was like to be human. To experience the range of emotions and weaknesses we are accustomed to. And though He was subjected to these emotions, He humbled Himself, and without sinning, He was able to deal gently with wayward and ignorant people. He prayed to the One Who could rescue Him from death. Oh, that we could be like that. Humbling ourselves, remembering our weaknesses, dealing gently with wayward and ignorant people (by remembering we were the same once), praying to God, Who rescues us from death. And most importantly, having a deep reverence for our Maker. The fact that we recognize this, is certainly a step in the right direction. Oh, the greatness of our Lord. He deserves ALL the glory.
2 And He is able to deal gently with ignorant and wayward people because He Himself is subject to the same weaknesses.
Hebrews 5:2
7 While Jesus was here on earth, He offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the One who could rescue Him from death. And God heard His prayers because of His deep reverence for God.
Hebrews 5:7
