Children are a gift from the Lord. How many of us lose this insight in the hustle and bustle of life? How many parents think they are a possession and treat them accordingly? How many parents over-obsess and control their children’s lives like a puppet? Just imagine how many people’s lives have been ruined or heavily influenced by the inadequacies of their parents? We are all far from perfect, there’s no such thing as a perfect parent. I know this due to my own faults. But just imagine if humans could see children as a gift from the Lord; a reward from Him. Maybe, just maybe, parenting would be more deliberate instead of a reactive nuisance we all know to well. Just imagine if parents realized how much significance they have in being a father or mother. Maybe they wouldn’t spend so much time chasing the “American dream”. It’s all part of God’s plan, being a parent. We need to take it more seriously.
