If You Scorn Wisdom….

Wisdom comes from God. Embrace it, you benefit. Scorn it, you suffer. There’s no better explanation of the way some people think, trying to understand their lunatic logic, rather than applying this truth to their situation. Only wisdom can explain evil thoughts and behaviors. And only wisdom, knowledge of God, brings good judgement. It’s exactly what Jesus meant when He said, “you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free”. Wisdoms comes from experience. And experience changes our outlook when God is incorporated into our life. Aligning with God (through Jesus) is the foundation in which true life is built upon. It all begins with respecting (having a healthy fear of) our Maker.

10 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. 11 Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life.12 If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer. Proverbs 9:10-12

Didn’t Have That Grace….

Continuing from yesterday’s entry about the blindness and mental distortion that occurs when sin is allowed in one’s life, we read about the religious leaders hearing about Jesus’ resurrection, denying it by bribing the soldiers to make up a story, and lying about what really happened. It’s really hard to believe that it’s possible for a human being to deny the very thing they dedicate their lives to promoting. Hypocrisy has a way of doing just that. And worse yet, all people hate hypocrisy, but only a few have the ability to see it in their own lives and do something about it. It’s only through God’s Spirit that we have the ability to recognize our sin. Then when our conscience convicts us, God gives us the power to repent, be forgiven, and are strengthened to move forward without the baggage that goes along with it. The religious leaders didn’t have that grace. At least they denied their sin when it came up. If you don’t think this exact behavior continues today, look at Washington DC. Look at our media. It’s on display, for all to see. Some even brag about it. How do you handle your sin when your conscience convicts you?

11 As the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and told the leading priests what had happened. 12 A meeting with the elders was called, and they decided to give the soldiers a large bribe. 13 They told the soldiers, “You must say, ‘Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole His body.’ 14 If the governor hears about it, we’ll stand up for you so you won’t get in trouble.” 15 So the guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say. Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today. Matthew 28:11-15

Farther..Longer… And Cost You More…

Can you imagine someone calling Jesus a deceiver? That’s exactly what the religious leaders called Him when they went to see Pontius Pilate. They called Jesus a deceiver. What type of mindset does a person have to have in order to call the Author of Truth a liar? Before you answer that, remember it’s what sin does to us that causes this spiritual blindness, which leads to this distorted view of truth. We all have that potential in us, waiting for the right moment to spring into action when Satan attacks us with his temptations. These religious leaders were so self-absorbed with protecting their way of life that they missed the very Person Whom they were supposed to be worshipping, standing right in front of them. The power of sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay. When sin tempts you to run from God, turn instead and run toward Him. It might seem counterintuitive, but the opposite of what you think is right when under its influence is exactly the remedy to your dilemma.

62 The next day, on the Sabbath, the leading priests and Pharisees went to see Pilate. 63 They told him, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver once said while He was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise from the dead.’ 64 So we request that you seal the tomb until the third day. This will prevent His disciples from coming and stealing His body and then telling everyone He was raised from the dead! If that happens, we’ll be worse off than we were at first.”65 Pilate replied, “Take guards and secure it the best you can.” 66 So they sealed the tomb and posted guards to protect it. Matthew 27:62-66

What He Experienced Was Overwhelming…

Imagine how lonely Jesus felt on the cross? What He experienced was overwhelming. Imagine being ridiculed by the leaders of your faith? Then by people walking by? And even two guilty sinners hanging on each side were making fun of Him? And lastly by the feeling of being abandoned by God Himself? Can you imagine the dismay, the loneliness, the despair one might feel in that situation? Jesus does, and He’s willing to share the hope that came from that event with you. What He accomplished on that cross that day, enduring the ridicule, the sense of abandonment, the loneliness, and the despair that this event brought, only intensifies the gift of God’s grace to us. Jesus knows suffering, for He endured the greatest sacrifice so that we will never suffer eternally. Trust Him with your life, for He is worthy. He knows us better than we know ourselves. By knowing Him, and His suffering, we get to know ourselves, and receive “life” in the process.

39 The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery. 40 “Look at You now!” they yelled at Him. “You said You were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, if You are the Son of God, save Yourself and come down from the cross!”41 The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders also mocked Jesus. 42 “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but He can’t save Himself! So He is the King of Israel, is He? Let Him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in Him! 43 He trusted God, so let God rescue Him now if He wants Him! For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ ” 44 Even the revolutionaries who were crucified with Him ridiculed Him in the same way. Matthew 27:39-44

What You Need To Heal….

The next time you’re struggling with rejection or disappointment with people, remember Jesus understands, He gets it. What He suffered through was more than any other human being ever to live, so He will understand what we are going through. And His compassion and empathy He will bring you, cannot be surpassed. Jesus gets you. He understands our pain and suffering. Go to Him today. Lay your burdens on Him. He will help you. He will give you exactly what you need to heal.

27 Some of the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into their headquarters and called out the entire regiment. 28 They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. 29 They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on His head, and they placed a reed stick in His right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before Him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!” 30 And they spit on Him and grabbed the stick and struck Him on the head with it. 31 When they were finally tired of mocking Him, they took off the robe and put His own clothes on Him again. Then they led Him away to be crucified. Matthew 27:27-31

Experiencing Real Life….

Wisdom is the application of God’s word, and the experience that comes from it. When you make gaining wisdom your goal, your desire to know God’s word and will, and make it your priority to live it out in obedience, you will find true life. You will find favor with the Lord. Those that purposely ignore God to pursue riches, fame, vanity, and other selfish endeavors miss out on experiencing real life. It’s like they purposely injure themselves, then spend the rest of their lives either trying to heal, or trying to avoid the pain a Godless life brings, all the while blaming everyone else instead of themselves. And you wonder why there is so much misery and despair? They look forward to death to end their self-inflicted chaos. If you want proof, look at today’s society. Abortion prevents future suffering (by death) and called healthcare (to make themselves feel better about it), and assisted suicide (they think) ends the misery. As it says here, their actions show they love death more than life (knowing God). If you want to find life, it’s found in knowing God. If you want to crave death, ignore Him.

35 For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord.36 But those who miss me injure themselves. All who hate me love death.” Proverbs 8:35-36

Still The Answer To The Dilemma Of Sin….

To think that Jesus’ atonement for our sins happened on a cross in the Middle East over 2,000 years ago. But it still accomplishes its purpose today, and will continue to rescue lost souls in the future. If we hear anyone today proclaim the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus, this psalm, written by David over 3,000 years ago, should mean even more to us today. And people say the Bible is antiquated. It may be old-fashion, but it’s still saving souls 2,000 plus years later. It’s still the answer to the dilemma of sin. It still brings hope to hurting souls. And it still heals spiritually blind sinners. Old, out-dated, or irrelevant for the current times, is not an excuse for disrespecting God. His word and the souls of people are the only things that will last forever, no matter how it’s portrayed by the world. Tell these truths to the next generation, and you’ll not only fulfill prophecy, serving your purpose, but you’ll assist in the salvation of those not yet born.

29 Let the rich of the earth feast and worship.Bow before Him, all who are mortal, all whose lives will end as dust.30 Our children will also serve Him.Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord.31 His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born. They will hear about everything He has done. Psalms 22:29-31

Know What’s Right, But Choose To Do Wrong….

Pontius Pilate was a crude man, much like today’s politicians. He knew Jesus was innocent. He was even warned by his wife to leave Him alone. He thought for sure the Jews would release Him, for it was in his power to release one prisoner during this time of year. And even though Pilate was surprised that the Jews chose Barabbas (a documented murderer) to be released instead of Jesus, Pilate’s lack of integrity, and his spineless mentality, went on ahead and had Jesus crucified. Knowing Jesus was innocent, he still went ahead and sentenced Him to death. Does this sound like a modern day politician? They seem to know what’s right but choose to do wrong in order to remain popular and in power, and fatten their wallets. When we know the right thing to do, and fail to do it for any reason, but especially for being politically correct, look out, God’s hand of discipline or judgement is coming for us. He will discipline those who are saved, and condemn those who aren’t saved. Our politicians may spend their entire political careers gaining wealth and power, but what they don’t realize, in the end, is the price they ultimately pay won’t compare to what they compromised their soul for. For what shall a man profit, it he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul in the process? We must hold our politicians accountable, in hope of God rescuing them from themselves. The same applies to us, when we put being PC ahead of doing what we know to be right, we can’t expect a bed of roses. It just doesn’t work that way. Integrity has no holiday.

11 Now Jesus was standing before Pilate, the Roman governor. “Are You the king of the Jews?” the governor asked Him.Jesus replied, “You have said it.” ”12 But when the leading priests and the elders made their accusations against Him, Jesus remained silent. 13 “Don’t You hear all these charges they are bringing against You?” Pilate demanded. 14 But Jesus made no response to any of the charges, much to the governor’s surprise.15 Now it was the governor’s custom each year during the Passover celebration to release one prisoner to the crowd–anyone they wanted. 16 This year there was a notorious prisoner, a man named Barabbas. 17 As the crowds gathered before Pilate’s house that morning, he asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you–Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” 18 (He knew very well that the religious leaders had arrested Jesus out of envy.)19 Just then, as Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Leave that innocent man alone. I suffered through a terrible nightmare about Him last night.”20 Meanwhile, the leading priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas to be released and for Jesus to be put to death. 21 So the governor asked again, “Which of these two do you want me to release to you?”The crowd shouted back, “Barabbas!”22 Pilate responded, “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Messiah?”They shouted back, “Crucify Him!”23 “Why?” Pilate demanded. “What crime has He committed?”But the mob roared even louder, “Crucify Him!”24 Pilate saw that he wasn’t getting anywhere and that a riot was developing. So he sent for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. The responsibility is yours!”25 And all the people yelled back, “We will take responsibility for His death–we and our children!”26 So Pilate released Barabbas to them. He ordered Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip, then turned Him over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified. Matthew 27:11-26

Your Today’s Last Day….

Imagine how many people are like Judas. He betrayed Jesus. Felt guilty. Realized his guilt. And then committed suicide. All because he was either too prideful to confess and be forgiven, or he was so distraught, caught up in his overwhelming emotions, that he acted on them and ended his life. Either way, Judas was not saved. His delay in repentance and rejuvenation left him Hell-bound. How many people out there tell themselves, “I just need more evidence in order to believe”. Or “when God calls I’ll answer”. Or “I want to have fun, I’ll seek God later on in my life”. All these excuses reveal the condition of the heart, unsaved. The longer you put off the call of God, the closer you come to Judas’ outcome. Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is near. Don’t put off what you have been given the opportunity to do today. For your tomorrow may be your today’s last day.

3 When Judas, who had betrayed Him, realized that Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. So he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders. 4 “I have sinned,” he declared, “for I have betrayed an innocent man.”“What do we care?” they retorted. “That’s your problem.”5 Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went out and hanged himself.6 The leading priests picked up the coins. “It wouldn’t be right to put this money in the Temple treasury,” they said, “since it was payment for murder.” 7 After some discussion they finally decided to buy the potter’s field, and they made it into a cemetery for foreigners. 8 That is why the field is still called the Field of Blood. 9 This fulfilled the prophecy of Jeremiah that says, “They took the thirty pieces of silver–the price at which he was valued by the people of Israel,10 and purchased the potter’s field,as the Lord directed.” Matthew 27:3-10

Used The Same Saliva He Used….

For those of you out there hurting, feeling like there’s no one on earth that knows what you’re experiencing, there is a Person Who does understand. His name is Jesus. When Jesus was arrested, He was betrayed by one of His own disciples. He was deserted by all of His disciples. He was denied by one of His three closest friends. He was abused and beaten by His leaders. And if that’s not enough, He was cursed, spit upon in His face, mocked, and crucified by the very people He chose to reveal Himself to the world. To think His very creation (the very people He made from the dust of the earth) stood right in His face and used the same saliva He used to heal a man from his blindness, to spit in His face and mock Him. Jesus gets it. He gets your situation. He understands what you’re going through. And most importantly, He wants to take your burden from you, because He’s big enough to handle it. Instead of running away from Him, run towards Him. He’s waiting with open arms, ready to give you the peace, the healing, the forgiveness, and the empathy you’re desperately needing. Jesus understands, because He’s experienced it Himself. He’s willing to help you, give Him a chance to prove it. Jesus is and will always be the One and only Person Who gets us (not the commercial), and is always there for us.

63 But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to Him, “I demand in the name of the living God–tell us if You are the Messiah, the Son of God.”64 Jesus replied, “You have said it. And in the future you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.”65 Then the high priest tore his clothing to show his horror and said, “Blasphemy! Why do we need other witnesses? You have all heard His blasphemy. 66 What is your verdict?”“Guilty!” they shouted. “He deserves to die!”67 Then they began to spit in Jesus’ face and beat Him with their fists. And some slapped Him, 68 jeering, “Prophesy to us, You Messiah! Who hit You that time?” Matthew 26:63-68

Those Who Truly Search For God….

Those who truly search for God, will find Him. God reveals Himself to those who’s hearts are fully committed to Him. Wisdom and discernment are the rewards of knowing Him. Good judgement and common sense are the side effects. No wonder common sense is no longer common. These days few truly seek God. The reason why America is imploding, is because the absence of God in one’s heart has left an empty space with no structure to support it. When we, as a collective society, create that vast void in our hearts, it’s only a matter of time before it collapses. Decide in your heart the desire to know God, then He will fill it with His Holy Spirit. And even the gates of hell will not be able to destroy it. The wisdom that comes from knowing God is priceless.

17 “I love all who love me.Those who search will surely find me.18 I have riches and honor,as well as enduring wealth and justice.19 My gifts are better than gold, even the purest gold,my wages better than sterling silver! Proverbs 8:17-19

This Is Boring And Irrelevant….

Can you imagine the value of the Tabernacle and all of its contents cost to make in today’s dollars? I added it up, $45.3 million. Wow. God doesn’t stop at any expense to have His dwelling place here on earth be glorious, does He? It’s not about the money, rather it’s about the value. In order to please God we have to give our best, we have to give what matters most to us, to show ourselves how much we truly value God. Just think the Israelites were slaves. They had nothing while in Egypt. Yet after the 10 plagues, the Egyptians were giving them jewelry, fine utensils, and other things of high value just to get them to leave Egypt. Then, God asked them, the ones that had grateful hearts, to donate these valuable things in order to build the Tabernacle and all of its contents. God brought the Israelites from suffering slavery to donating $45.3 million to build His Dwelling place all in a relatively short time period. This only goes to show us that What God asks us to do, He also provides for us to do it. When you read through these Old Testament books it’s easy to slip into “this is boring and irrelevant to me” thinking, but when you truly read with the goal of knowing God more intimately, you truly find the treasure in which God will use to further His kingdom. No study, no reading, and no scripture is ever wasted. Never forget this.

21 This is an inventory of the materials used in building the Tabernacle of the Covenant. The Levites compiled the figures, as Moses directed, and Ithamar son of Aaron the priest served as recorder. 22 Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 23 He was assisted by Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, a craftsman expert at engraving, designing, and embroidering with blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen cloth.24 The people brought special offerings of gold totaling 2 ,193 pounds, as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. This gold was used throughout the Tabernacle.25 The whole community of Israel gave 7 ,545 pounds of silver, as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. 26 This silver came from the tax collected from each man registered in the census. (The tax is one beka, which is half a shekel, based on the sanctuary shekel.) The tax was collected from 603,550 men who had reached their twentieth birthday. Exodus 38:21-26

Connection With Other People….

Man was never meant to live alone. God spoke these very words in Genesis, and Jesus exemplified this truth in the garden of Gethsemane. Jesus was in great distress and agony over what was about to happen to Him. His scourging and crucifixion were less than 24 hours away. He specifically took His three closest disciples with Him to pray, Peter, James, and John. When He found them sleeping, He let them know how disappointed He was. This just goes to show us that man was never meant to be an island. Man was never meant to isolate himself, away from society, and live to himself. We need others in our lives to help carry our burdens. We need others in our lives to help celebrate the successes. We need others in our lives to fully live. If our ultimate goal is to glorify God, it is possible to honor Him by the way we live our lives, but it’s impossible to show and tell others about Him, and all the things He’s done for us, if there’s no else around to share it with. We live in a world that’s connected through social media, but disconnected outside the cyber environment. Fakebook posts are only there to make ourselves look better than we really are, only superficial. This pseudo-sense of security and connection will never satisfy the thirst of our God-centered, people-relating spirit God has placed inside of every single human being to ever to walk on this earth. Connection with other people is vital. We can’t live this life alone and expect to be fulfilled. It doesn’t work that way. “JOY SHARED IS DOUBLE JOY, SORROW SHARED IS HALF SORROW”.

36 Then Jesus went with them to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and He said, “Sit here while I go over there to pray.” 37 He took Peter and Zebedee’s two sons, James and John, and He became anguished and distressed. 38 He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with Me.”39 He went on a little farther and bowed with His face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from Me. Yet I want Your will to be done, not Mine.”40 Then He returned to the disciples and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you watch with Me even one hour? 41 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”42 Then Jesus left them a second time and prayed, “My Father! If this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, Your will be done.” 43 When He returned to them again, He found them sleeping, for they couldn’t keep their eyes open.44 So He went to pray a third time, saying the same things again. 45 Then He came to the disciples and said, “Go ahead and sleep. Have your rest. But look–the time has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Up, let’s be going. Look, My betrayer is here!” Matthew 26:36-46

Nothing You Desire Can Compare With It…

Every man has a decision to make. When he is born he doesn’t have a choice in who his parents are, or what they teach him. But as he ages, he is confronted with the utmost decision he will ever make. “Do I follow the world or do I follow God?” Or in easier terms, “do I pursue money, fame, power, vanity, etc... or do I pursue wisdom, knowledge, good judgement, etc....?” The world or God? In the end, the magnitude of your wealth will be crystal clear. It will be material riches, or spiritual and relational riches. One can be measured, while the other cannot, because it continues to give eternally. Evidence of the choice we make will be obvious. It will be seen in how we treat others, in our everyday attitudes, and ultimately where we end up upon death. The Bible says “choose instruction.... and knowledge (wisdom).... for they are more valuable, nothing you desire can compare with it”. If that comes from the pen of the wisest man who ever lived, it’s because he got it from God Himself. Fame, riches, power, only last a short while. Living a life pursuing God, grants us wisdom and discernment. These last forever, because truth doesn’t change or ever die. Choosing a life that seeks wisdom may not be glamorous, but it certainly brings life, every single day and is eternal.

6 Listen to me! For I have important things to tell you.Everything I say is right,7 for I speak the truth and detest every kind of deception.8 My advice is wholesome. There is nothing devious or crooked in it.9 My words are plain to anyone with understanding, clear to those with knowledge.10 Choose my instruction rather than silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold.11 For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies.Nothing you desire can compare with it. Proverbs 8:6-11

Everything We Need For Life….

We have everything we need for life here on earth, it’s just a matter of rearranging it. As believers, whose hearts are for God, we donate, connect with, and rearrange people, things, and resources to meet the needs of those less fortunate, or living in tough circumstances. It’s how Christians are supposed to live. Can you meet the need of someone going through a hard time? If so, do it. You’ll make a difference today.

So the whole community of Israel left Moses and returned to their tents. 21 All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the Lord. They brought all the materials needed for the Tabernacle, for the performance of its rituals, and for the sacred garments. 22 Both men and women came, all whose hearts were willing. Exodus 35:20-22a

One Of The Coolest Things…

One of the coolest things I see in the Israelites exodus out of Egypt and their journey in the desert, was God’s requiring them to appear before Him three times a year. You might ask, “what’s cool about having to stand before God, and make a sacrifice by slaughtering an animal?” Well, they were humbled 3 times a year. They had three reality checks per year. They had to learn how to manage their selfishness, or they would be reprimanded by God for not keeping it in check, three times a year. Can you imagine having to do that? How much better would our lives be? How much better would the world be? Being accountable to God is a good thing, unless you don’t want to be. Every morning when I read the Bible, it’s like those 3 times a year people stand before God. I do it every day. It’s the most refreshing and rewarding thing a human being can do. Feeding yourself spiritually. Connecting with our Creator. Being reminded I’m accountable to Him. That’s what Christianity is about. It’s a connection that brings peace, significance, and purpose, all the while holding us accountable for our actions. It’s the confidence in God to do what He does best. Connect with God daily. It’s the greatest thing you’ll ever do, and you can do it every day (not just 3 times a year). How great is that?

22 “You must celebrate the Festival of Harvest with the first crop of the wheat harvest, and celebrate the Festival of the Final Harvest at the end of the harvest season. 23 Three times each year every man in Israel must appear before the Sovereign, the Lord, the God of Israel. 24 I will drive out the other nations ahead of you and expand your territory, so no one will covet and conquer your land while you appear before the Lord your God three times each year. Exodus 34:22-24

A True Leader Takes Responsibility For The Group…

A true leader takes responsibility for the group he leads. He includes himself in that group even if he doesn’t join along in sinful practice. He knows he will be held accountable for their behavior, so he treats sin as serious. Notice how Moses addresses God “but please forgive our iniquities and our sin”. He wasn’t doing the sinning, the people were, but he knew he was a sinner. Great, effective leaders know this, and lead by promoting this kind of attitude.

8 Moses immediately threw himself to the ground and worshiped. 9 And he said, “O Lord, if it is true that I have found favor with You, then please travel with us. Yes, this is a stubborn and rebellious people, but please forgive our iniquity and our sins. Claim us as Your own special possession.” Exodus 34:8-9

When People Try To Please God…

How is it possible to forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin, but not excuse the guilty? The answer, Jesus. Jesus is the Answer for the world. It’s because of Him we can be forgiven, and not violate God’s character. And the best part is it’s a free gift. No one can earn it, work for it, or deserve it. It’s simply a free gift. When people try to please God (without Jesus) by doing righteous works, they will never succeed. It’s like having a long jump contest over the Grand Canyon. Sure there will be people who jump farther away from the edge, but they all fall the same distance down. No one can jump across the vast divide of the canyon. But Jesus is the bridge that connects the divide. Only by walking on Him (by faith), can one successfully cross the canyon. Christianity is complicated, but simple. The only thing holding a man back from God, is his pride, which says, “I’m not crossing that Jesus’ bridge, I’m gonna do it myself “. The only place that ever gets people is the bottom of the canyon. God’s grace is unfathomable, and yet free. It’s complex, yet simple. It’s forgiving, yet just. The greatest thing anyone could ever learn and embrace on this earth is the Gospel of Jesus. Make it a priority in your life and your life will be full. Make it a priority in your life and it will have purpose. Make it a priority in your life and you will have peace, security, and wholeness. Make it a priority in your life and you’ll learn how to love, passing that on to 1000 generations.

5 Then the Lord came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and He called out His own name, Yahweh. 6 The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy!I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.7 I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations.I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected–even children in the third and fourth generations.” Exodus 34:5-7

Your Presence Is For Our Good…

This passage is one of the greatest in all of the Bible. Moses declares God’s presence is vital to our existence. Knowing God helps us enjoy His blessings more. It’s God’s presence that sets us apart from all other people. It’s what’s lacking in failed witness attempts. Anytime someone tries to witness, speak truth, or glorify God without consulting with Him first, will not accomplish true glory. If we forget, or neglect, our communication with God, how can we expect to accomplish His will? Moses knew this, it’s why he asked God to go with them into the promised land, to show him His glory. He knew they couldn’t go without Him. Do you see God this way? Do you consult with Him in prayer every day? I know I have work to do to improve my relationship with Him. “Lord, continue to reveal Yourself to us, for Your presence is for our good.”

12 One day Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Take these people up to the Promised Land.’ But You haven’t told me whom You will send with me. You have told me, ‘I know you by name, and I look favorably on you.’ 13 If it is true that You look favorably on me, let me know Your ways so I may understand You more fully and continue to enjoy Your favor. And remember that this nation is Your very own people.”14 The Lord replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest–everything will be fine for you.”15 Then Moses said, “If You don’t personally go with us, don’t make us leave this place. 16 How will anyone know that You look favorably on me–on me and on Your people–if You don’t go with us? For Your presence among us sets Your people and me apart from all other people on the earth.”17 The Lord replied to Moses, “I will indeed do what you have asked, for I look favorably on you, and I know you by name.”18 Moses responded, “Then show me Your glorious presence.”19 The Lord replied, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will call out My name, Yahweh, before you. For I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose. 20 But you may not look directly at My face, for no one may see Me and live.” 21 The Lord continued, “Look, stand near Me on this rock. 22 As My glorious presence passes by, I will hide you in the crevice of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will remove My hand and let you see Me from behind. But My face will not be seen.” Exodus 33:12-23

Are You A Sheep Or Are You A Goat?

In this passage, Jesus talks about the final judgement. He describes the behaviors of those who serve and love Him, verses the attitudes of those that don’t. The passage goes on to describe the behaviors that lead to life and the ones that lead to death. The takeaway from this passage couldn’t be more clear: it’s not so much about whether we recognize those in need and do something about it, because there will be times we don’t act on what we know we should do, the major point is are you a sheep or are you a goat?

31 “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit upon His glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered in His presence, and He will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.33 He will place the sheep at His right hand and the goats at His left.34 “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.35 For I was hungry, and you fed Me. I was thirsty, and you gave Me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited Me into your home.36 I was naked, and you gave Me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for Me. I was in prison, and you visited Me.’37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see You hungry and feed You? Or thirsty and give You something to drink?38 Or a stranger and show You hospitality? Or naked and give You clothing?39 When did we ever see You sick or in prison and visit You?’40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these My brothers and sisters, you were doing it to Me!’41 “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons.42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed Me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give Me a drink.43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite Me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give Me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit Me.’44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help You?’45 “And He will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these My brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help Me.’46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.” Matthew 25:31-46

God’s Presence….

The greatest joy we will ever experience is God’s presence. We have the opportunity to experience it every single day. Don’t miss out.

6 You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of Your presence. Psalms 21:6

There Is No Substitute For Being Connected With…

How many churches in America have strayed from God? How many have left the adherence to what scripture teaches? How many have bought into the liberal agenda? I don’t mean to be offensive but the answer is more than we think. Without a connection to God, man will worship whatever is available. In the Israelites case, it was the golden calf. Moses was on the mountain for a long time, so without strong, godly leadership, the people rebelled. And worse yet, Aaron caved in to their demands, by making a golden calf and altar. Nothing good comes from a church or group of so-called followers, when they abandon God’s truth. Many churches today promote being pro-choice, allow same-sex marriage, believe in transgender ideology, practice hypocrisy, and so on. There is no substitute for being connected with the Living God, but yet many people try to substitute other things with worship because they lack the connection with the real One. Never allow yourself to worship, or give your heart’s greatest desire over to, anything but Jesus. He’s the only One worthy of our deepest affection.

1 When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron. “Come on,” they said, “make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.”2 So Aaron said, “Take the gold rings from the ears of your wives and sons and daughters, and bring them to me.”3 All the people took the gold rings from their ears and brought them to Aaron. 4 Then Aaron took the gold, melted it down, and molded it into the shape of a calf. When the people saw it, they exclaimed, “O Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of the land of Egypt!”5 Aaron saw how excited the people were, so he built an altar in front of the calf. Then he announced, “Tomorrow will be a festival to the Lord!”6 The people got up early the next morning to sacrifice burnt offerings and peace offerings. After this, they celebrated with feasting and drinking, and they indulged in pagan revelry.7 The Lord told Moses, “Quick! Go down the mountain! Your people whom you brought from the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. 8 How quickly they have turned away from the way I commanded them to live! They have melted down gold and made a calf, and they have bowed down and sacrificed to it. They are saying, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.’ ” Exodus 32:1-8

People May Work Really Hard…

People may work really hard on fine tuning their skills and talents, but it’s God Who gives us these gifts. Never forget this.

1 Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 3 I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. 4 He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. 5 He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft!6 “And I have personally appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to be his assistant. Moreover, I have given special skill to all the gifted craftsmen so they can make all the things I have commanded you to make: Exodus 31:1-6

Doing Nothing Is Doing Something….

In the parable of the 3 servants, Jesus tells us about how we view God determines how we behave. It’s not the major point of this parable but it is important. The first servant is given 5 bags of silver. He takes it and turns it into 10 bags of silver. The second servant turns 2 bags of silver into 4 bags. The third servant was fearful of losing the money so he did nothing (buried the bag of silver). Looking at this from a worldly perspective we can see two of the servants used what they were given to produce more, while the third servant did nothing because he allowed himself to be paralyzed with fear. Some people would say, “that’s not selfish, he couldn’t help it”. But that’s what happens when we allow our feelings to dictate our behavior. When we know what’s right, we have to set aside our feelings and do it. Is it selfish to squander your talent? According to this parable it is selfish to not use the talents God has given us. It all starts with how we view God. If we see Him as a Father Who gives good gifts, we see a need to not waste those gifts in honor of the Giver. If we see God as an authoritarian, one who takes without asking, and does as He pleases with no regard for our well-being, then our motivation to use our talents for His glory will not exist. Why would anyone want to please a self-centered, egotistical person? We wouldn’t. Here’s the point I want to make, doing nothing is doing something. Not making a decision is making a decision. Wasting our talents by either being selfish about it, or doing nothing, isn’t what God wants from us. To honor the Giver of the gift (talent), we respond by using those gifts (talents) in a way that will honor God Himself, help others, and of course benefit ourselves (in that order). Doing nothing is doing something. You may call it laziness, but I would call it selfishness. Don’t waste the talents that God has given you. Put them to work. The reward will be greater than you could ever expect. The key is how you see God, as to whether your talents will be multiplied or wasted. How many people do you know have wasted the talents they’ve been given? Don’t be one of them. Honor God by the way you live, and you will see fruit produced throughout your life. And most importantly, you will hear the most important words a human being can hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant”.

14 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone.15 He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last–dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.16 “The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more.17 The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more.18 But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money.19 “After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money.20 The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’21 “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’22 “The servant who had received the two bags of silver came forward and said, ‘Master, you gave me two bags of silver to invest, and I have earned two more.’23 “The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’24 “Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate.25 I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’26 “But the master replied, ‘You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate,27 why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.’28 “Then he ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver.29 To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.30 Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ Matthew 25:14-30

They “Missed The Boat”….

One of the most effective methods Satan uses to pull Christians away from God is by distracting them. Busyness, social media, entertainment, gossip, and comparison, are all things that help make being distracted to the important things of life easy to forget. Think about it, in Noah’s day, he warned the people. Did they listen? Nope. He built an ark (boat) as a reminder of the judgement to come. Every time people saw the construction site of the boat, it should’ve been a reminder of the coming judgement. Unfortunately for them, they “missed the boat”, even though it was right in front of their eyes. How often are you distracted? How often are you too busy to care? How often do you miss a “divine moment” because you’re distracted or busy being caught up in your daily activities? Or do you ever justify yourself when your actions are questionable? All of these are Satan’s way of distracting us away from what’s important. Think, “have I ever missed out on a much needed conversation with a hurting soul because I was too into myself”? I know I have. Being “present”, giving others our 100% undivided attention is exactly what Jesus did, 100% of the time. He set aside His agenda and gave people the His attention. Better yet, the people were His agenda. The woman at the well, the little children, the woman caught in adultery, feeding the 5,000, plus when He was grieving John the Baptist’s death, the rich young ruler, and on and on.... The most important moments to Him were in the moment with people, usually seen as unimportant or unworthy of His attention. If we are to be sanctified, to be more like Jesus, we have to recognize these distractions, or our priority on less important things, and learn to be present, like Jesus did. If we do, we will recognize that our presence, our 100%, undivided attention is the best present we can give another human being. And the reward is what we receive back in return. Don’t allow distractions to cause you to miss the boat. Lord, help me see what’s important today, what my purpose is, and help keep the distractions to a minimum.

37 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day.38 In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat.39 People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. Matthew 24:37-39

The Proper View Of Ourselves….

Adding to yesterday’s post about nature declaring God’s existence, there’s more. Nature acknowledges God’s existence, leaving us without excuse for not trying to know Him. But it’s His word that reveals to us He wants a relationship with Him. The rewards of that relationship are priceless. It revives our soul. Makes us wise. Brings joy to the heart. Gives us insight for living. Fulfills our inclination to worship. Makes our understanding of justice fair. It satisfies our longing for purpose and significance. And lastly, it teaches us things about ourselves that need attention, and gives us the power to change. In essence, it gives us the proper view of ourselves, and lays the foundation of the path in which we were designed to take.

reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.8 The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.9 Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true;each one is fair.10 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.11 They are a warning to Your servant,a great reward for those who obey them. 12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?Cleanse me from these hidden faults.13 Keep Your servant from deliberate sins!Don’t let them control me.Then I will be free of guiltand innocent of great sin. 14 May the words of my mouthand the meditation of my heartbe pleasing to You,O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. What About Those That have Never Heard…

When people ask me the common, most-asked question objecting to Christianity: “what about those people who have never heard about Jesus, do they go to Hell?”, I point them to two scripture verses, Psalm 19:1-6, and Romans chapter 1. The first part of explaining the answer is to point out that Nature, or the Heavens as called in the psalms, declares God’s glory. What this means is that no human being with a brain can look at nature and not see there was a Creator. Nothing can’t make something. Something doesn’t come from nothing. Where did the material come from to make the “Big Bang”? What triggered it? God explains creation in the Bible. He made everything. Looking at nature proves it. A painting has a painter. A building has a builder. And creation has a Creator. When people look at nature, a vast ocean view, a spectacular, colorful sunset, a beautiful flower, or a majestic animal in its environment, we are in awe. We feel privileged to be a witness of it. When people get to be out in nature they tend to forget their problems and return home with a grateful attitude. Who is it that they are grateful to? Nature is God’s general revelation of His existence. We see it and we know there is a Creator. Unfortunately, sinners are not converted by general revelation. General revelation only makes us accountable. Thus, worthy of being Hell-bound. If we know there is a Creator, then we must do whatever is necessary to find Him. The lack of pursuit of knowing God is what keeps everyone guilty. It’s only those that act on the notion of a Creator that God grants Divine/Special revelation, which is what saves us. All people are guilty, because we are born sinners, and we accept that by not acting on what general revelation reveals to us, that there is a Creator. It’s when we ask ourselves, “if there really is a God out there, then I need to know Him”? That’s when God reveals Himself to us (special revelation). It only happens when we genuinely seek Him out, whole-heartedly. If you’re a person in a remote jungle, or an MTV raised teenager in middle-America, when that question comes to you, you act on it. If you don’t, you’re already condemned (you are just agreeing with it by not acting on it). As Romans chapter 1 says, “men are without excuse”. So you see, God doesn’t condemn innocent people, He condemns guilty people who refuse to act on what they know to be true. So in essence, there are no innocent people on the face of the earth. And once you come to know the God of the Bible, you realize it’s His love and grace that gives us time to get to know Him. If someone asks that question, “if God is real?”, genuinely in their heart, God will send someone to explain the Gospel to them. Until the last person asks, God will continue to allow good and evil to co-exist. He allows it because He knows there’s still more believers out there waiting to be converted. If that isn’t Good News, then I don’t know what is.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God.The skies display His craftsmanship.2 Day after day they continue to speak;night after night they make Him known.3 They speak without a sound or word;their voice is never heard.4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.5 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.6 The sun rises at one end of the heavensand follows its course to the other end.Nothing can hide from its heat. Psalms 19:1-6

18 But God shows His anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because He has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities–His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator Himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, He abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. Romans 1:18-32

Our Opposition….

Have you ever thought of how our obedience makes God an enemy? Not to us, but to our enemies. When we fully commit ourselves to God by trusting Him, He opposes those who oppose us. When we obey God, we are drafted to the winning team. We side with God, believing His ways are best. We jump across the line of truth and become truth seekers. We evaluate our lives based on His truth. We weigh all of our decisions using discernment, His wisdom. When we sell out to God, we become restricted, free-agents of the Most High. There are no trade clauses in our contract. We are franchised on God’s team. And we will spend the rest of eternity secure, serving Him. It starts with an obedient commitment to Him. Our opposition then becomes God’s opposition. And we know in the end, God wins, and Satan loses. Now that’s confident to know, isn’t it?

“See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you. 21 Pay close attention to him, and obey his instructions. Do not rebel against him, for he is My representative, and he will not forgive your rebellion. 22 But if you are careful to obey him, following all My instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you. Exodus 23:20-22

Do As I Say, Not As I Do…

When I read of the Sadducees and Pharisees in Jesus’ day, I can’t help but think of politicians of our day. They are above the law, “do as I say not as I do”. They don’t practice what they preach. Yet everything they do is for show. They live to be honored at gatherings, be interviewed on tv, and love to hear people exalt them everywhere they go. They are “our modern day Sadducees and Pharisees”. Jesus’ advice on how to deal with them is simple, do what they tell you to do, but do not follow their own behavior. They will tell you to do right, so do it. Don’t model their behavior, for it will get you into trouble. Hypocrisy has a way of entangling the practitioner into a web of deceit, so tightly spun, there will be no escape. Hypocrisy has a way of blinding the eyes of those who practice it, that it eventually causes the person to believe what they are doing is righteous. Jesus called the religious leaders “the blind leading the blind”. The moral to this story is to grow closer to God, so that His Spirit fine tunes your eyes to be able to discern truth from hypocrisy. Allow Him to work in you, cornering that inclination, limiting it to the smallest section in your heart, putting an eternal quarantine on it, never letting it raise its ugly head again. That’s what true humility does. And that’s why God rewards the humble.

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to His disciples, 2 “The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.3 So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach.4 They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.5 “Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and they wear robes with extra long tassels.6 And they love to sit at the head table at banquets and in the seats of honor in the synagogues.7 They love to receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi.’ Matthew 23:1-7a

11 The greatest among you must be a servant.12 But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Matthew 23:11-12

Play With Fire And not Get Burned…

In today’s “anything goes society” people think sinful behavior is acceptable. When a man or woman has an affair the consequences are inevitable. Society only acts as if these acts are bad if it’s someone it doesn’t like. If it’s a person, a politician for example, that’s not liked, the hammer is dropped on them and their political career is over. If it’s someone the world likes, they get a slap on the wrist, time without public coverage goes by, then they are socially resurrected and fame is returned to them. God doesn’t see it that way, and reality proves it. The destruction adultery causes within a family is irreversible. The severed connections between father-son, father-daughter, mother-son, and mother-daughter can’t be fully evaluated. The hurt, animosity, and distrust created by an adulterous affair lingers on for the rest of the lives of all involved. Think of adultery with the example given in this proverb; can a man scoop a flame into his lap and not have his clothes catch on fire? Adultery, fornication, and any other form of sexual activity outside of God’s design has detrimental consequences. God knows the damage it does to people. He knows the hurt and brokenness it causes. He knows that some people never recover from it. And yet people still think they can play with fire and not get burned. And even worse, promote it as if it is no big deal. It is a big deal, so big, the burn scars it leaves cripples people from every receiving full recovery. Adultery is serious. It’s a vow we break. God says it’s serious. Being unfaithful breaks the vow you made, and severs the bonded trust you’ve established in your commitment to your spouse. God hates divorce for a reason. Determine in your heart that if it’s going to be allowed and even celebrated in the world, it won’t be by you.

26 For a prostitute will bring you to poverty, but sleeping with another man’s wife will cost you your life.27 Can a man scoop a flame into his lap and not have his clothes catch on fire? 28 Can he walk on hot coals and not blister his feet? 29 So it is with the man who sleeps with another man’s wife. He who embraces her will not go unpunished. Proverbs 6:26-29

32 But the man who commits adultery is an utter fool, for he destroys himself.33 He will be wounded and disgraced. His shame will never be erased.34 For the woman’s jealous husband will be furious, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.35 He will accept no compensation, nor be satisfied with a payoff of any size. Proverbs 6:32-35

The Beginning Of Wisdom….

Imagine this simple concept actually works. The fear of God keeps us from seeing sin as acceptable behavior. Take God out of the picture, and sinning runs rampant. This just goes to show everyone why walking with God is such an important part of one’s life. Sin is striving for independence from God, its selfishness. It makes us run from Him. That’s the exact opposite from what we were designed to do. Salvation, peace, rest, purpose, strength, security, endurance, patience, kindness, and love come from God. If we don’t get these from Him in a relationship or right standing with Him, what we have isn’t real or authentic. It’s just pretending, a forgery, a counterfeit. It states in Proverbs, “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”, now you know why.

19 And they said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen. But don’t let God speak directly to us, or we will die!”20 “Don’t be afraid,” Moses answered them, “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of Him will keep you from sinning!”21 As the people stood in the distance, Moses approached the dark cloud where God was. Exodus 20:19-21
