Refusing to accept advice or instruction from wise people or God Himself, makes the rebel run wild. People mistake wild for free. You are never truly free when you run from the truth. It may appear to be freedom, but in actuality, you are a slave to whatever you allow to control you. True freedom and joy happens when you live within the parameters God has placed into the world. We are designed for it. It’s our purpose to live within these parameters. When we do we experience true joy. When we don’t, what we experience is lostness, even though it may bring temporary pleasure.
18 When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild.But whoever obeys the law is joyful.
