Seven times in the first three chapters of Amos, God tells the people that He will not let them go unpunished for their sins. According to this passage, God never carries out His plan until He reveals it to His loyal followers, who are to tell others. If they don’t listen and take head, they will come away with scraps. We are to never stop telling others the plan of God. NEVER.
This is what the Lord says: “The people of Damascus have sinned again and again, and I will not let them go unpunished!
Amos 1:3a
7 Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until He reveals His plans to His servants the prophets.
Amos 3:7
This is what the Lord says: “A shepherd who tries to rescue a sheep from a lion’s mouth will recover only two legs or a piece of an ear. So it will be for the Israelites in Samaria lying on luxurious beds, and for the people of Damascus reclining on couches.
Amos 3:12
