There are three classes of people who oppose God addressed in the Bible: the ignorant, the mockers, and the fools (willful haters). The simple and ignorant are the main focus in the book of Proverbs. Simply put, you can educate the ignorant, but you can’t change or convince a fool, they have already made up their unchangeable mind. God knows this, that’s why He calls them fools. He knows they know the truth, yet refuse to abide in it. Jesus talked about the unpardonable sin, willful denial, willful disobedience, all in a consistent pattern throughout one’s life. When God calls, there’s no reason for not answering. We should take heed.
Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square. 21 She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate: 22 “How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge? 23 Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.
