Clearly, throughout scripture God emphasizes that He wants our devotion. It’s stated in the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:3-6). His prophets constantly told Israel to repent and return to Him. Jesus in the NT stated it numerous times; “come unto me....” Matt 6:28, “seek ye first the kingdom of God...” Matt 6:33. God wants us to cling to Him (like a loin cloth, remember?). He wants us to believe Him, depend on Him, and relate to Him. Why is this important? It’s important because we (human beings) are what God uses to accomplish His will. Sure, He has other methods of reaching people, but He chooses to use us. That’s what we are created for, His Glory. When we align our will with His, we fulfill our purpose. Our paths become straight. Our lives make sense. Our burdens become lighter. It isn’t a magic pill, but it is a choice we can make ever single day that makes an eternal difference not only in our lives, but in the lives of others as well. Today, ask God to use you in a mighty way, and prepare yourself for a divine encounter.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart;do not depend on your own understanding.6 Seek His will in all you do,and He will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:5-6
