Why is society the way it is today? Why are people so vain, so selfish, so confused? Why does evil reign? Why do people call evil good and good evil? I can give you two reasons. First, because the fear of God keeps people from sinning. It’s hard to find reverence for God here in America. And second, few have experienced His Grace, and allowed it to change them. A healthy reverence for God, and a sincere gratitude of receiving His Grace are the two solid factors that determine the spiritual health of a group of people.
19 And they said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen. But don’t let God speak directly to us, or we will die!”20 “Don’t be afraid,” Moses answered them, “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of Him will keep you from sinning!”
Exodus 20:19-20
4 Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that His kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?
