I would love to read these verses out loud at any anti-God rally. When anyone calls God a bad name, or tries to paint a picture of God that makes Him out to be an angry dictator, these verses refute any such allegations. If only people would see Him for Who He really is! It’s not until you see and experience the Heart of God, that our eyes are opened to see His kindness and love for us, that can only come from a sincere, repentant heart. And that can only come from the realization that you are a sinner doomed to condemnation, but have the ability to be rescued for His glory, through faith in Jesus. After reading these passages, do you think some of the haters out there might change their minds about God?
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let Me. 38 And now, look, your house is abandoned and desolate.39 For I tell you this, you will never see Me again until you say, ‘Blessings on the One who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
Matthew 23:37-39
32 I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!
Ezekiel 18:32
11 As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?
Ezekiel 33:11
