God will not share His Glory with anyone or anything. The reason there is so much turmoil in the Middle East till this day, is because the Israelites didn’t follow God’s command. They assimilated instead of eliminated the pagans in the Promised land. As it says in Romans 12:2, we are not to conform, but to be transformed by the Holy Spirit. All of this still happens today. When will we ever understand God’s jealousy isn’t the kind of jealousy we think of from a human stand point. He’s jealous for us. Jealous for a relationship with us.
12 “Be very careful never to make a treaty with the people who live in the land where you are going. If you do, you will follow their evil ways and be trapped. 13 Instead, you must break down their pagan altars, smash their sacred pillars, and cut down their Asherah poles. 14 You must worship no other gods, for the Lord, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about His relationship with you.
