The difference between humility and pride is humility promotes listening to instruction, making you wise for heeding guidance. Pride stands in the way of instruction, for it tells you, “you already know this”, and causes you to fall flat on your face. As the saying goes, “pride comes before the fall”.
8 The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall flat on their faces.
