Here’s a major truth in the Bible: God wants our best. That means “best” of everything. What you do, say, make, exert, give, or think. Everything!!! This is the reason we have everyday to get out of bed and get through the day. Giving a God your best is what we are created for. It gets the focus off of “me”, sets goals for us to achieve, and rewards us intrinsically more so than anything else we can do. It fulfills Jesus’ commands to live God and love our neighbor. When we give God our best, it reveals where our heart really is; what it treasures. Everyone benefits.
29 Be sure to give to the Lord the best portions of the gifts given to you.
