Human nature is naturally rebellious toward God. It part of the “Free Will” equation we’ve been given. Here God gives a task that will remind the Israelites to follow His commands. God has always wanted us to put Him first in our lives. He should be the center of our existence. Everything should rotate around Him: your thoughts, actions, and responsibilities. Our nature wants to place “Self” at the center of our existence instead. When we choose to serve “Self” instead of God, the outcome is always regrettable. Save yourself some pain and listen to God’s word. It’s what we were created for.
39 When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do. 40 The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God. 41 I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt that I might be your God. I am the Lord your God!”
