Of all the things people pursue in this world, I think riches are the most deceitful of them all. Why? Because the security we think it brings is false security. Have you ever heard of money curing a disease? Has money ever brought someone back to life? Have you ever heard of money saving anyone from Hell? Me neither. Money is attractive, yet its deceptive as well, distracting us from the reality of life. Is money bad? Of course not. Is it necessary? Certainly. The question we all need to be asking is, what is the source of our existence? If it’s the pursuit of riches, be prepared for the shock of your life when it comes time to meet God face to face. If it’s pursuing God, expect Him to provide for all your needs. In the end, money won’t help us on the day of judgement. There’s only so many things money can buy. When it comes to the spiritual world, money is practically worthless, it’s how we use it that determines our true welfare.
4 Riches won’t help on the day of judgment, but right living can save you from death.
Proverbs 11:4
