When Jesus tells us about people who will pretend to be authentic teachers of truth with the sole purpose to deceive, why do we have such a hard time with discerning modern day preachers? They are here, and they certainly are deceiving many. How do you know who is legit and who isn’t? Discernment. God gives it to those that ask. From a human standpoint, just like the IRS, you learn to spot a counterfeit by studying the real thing.
22 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.23 Watch out! I have warned you about this ahead of time!
