Of all the people in the world, God will be the hardest on those that pretend they follow the truth, yet really do it for selfish gain. On judgement day, murders will have a less harsh judgement than those religious leaders who have led astray honest seekers from truly knowing Who God really is. All the “word faith” preachers and teachers are in for the harshest judgement of all people. It’s one thing to flat out reject God, it’s totally different to disguise yourself as a follower of truth, and lead many innocent truth seekers far away from God. Ask God for the discernment to know the difference between false teachers and legitimate followers of Christ Jesus.
38 Jesus also taught: “Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they like to parade around in flowing robes and receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces. 39 And how they love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the head table at banquets.40 Yet they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property and then pretend to be pious by making long prayers in public. Because of this, they will be more severely punished.”
