Isn’t it ironic how the world chooses its causes? Global warming, animal abuse, feeding the impoverished, stopping human trafficking, and the list goes on and on... Some of these are worthy causes, and some are philanthropic quests for finding a good place to dispose their money. The part that’s missing is the “heart issue”. Regardless of these “causes”, God’s agenda always involves the humble, the “down and out”, and the widows and orphans. He always protects the weak from the arrogantly strong. His cause always helps the needy and the hopeless. And His cause always trumps man’s intentions. It’s just ironic how man causes these problems because they live without God, but want to fix them on their own. Man causes poverty because of selfish pursuits of riches, that usually lead to governments controlling the people. Playing favorites with those who “have”, creating poverty, and separating people into classes, the rich and poor (“have and have-nots”). I’m sure when these types of people try to do good, some benefits come as a result of their efforts, but if God is not in it, you’ll only be feeding a man for a day, which enables him to expect rather than work for it. Instead, ask God to help you teach them to fish, that way they can sustain themselves and help others as well.
10 With every bone in my body I will praise Him:“Lord, who can compare with You?Who else rescues the helpless from the strong?Who else protects the helpless and poor from those who rob them?”
Psalms 35:10
