Irony in the Bible is documented throughout scripture. It always comes down to either evil people falling into their own traps set for the righteous, or righteous people receiving things that they thought were impossible. Any time we doubt God or even criticize Him, the very thing we doubted or criticized comes back to meet us face to face. When you oppose God, be prepared to receive the treatment you prescribed for others.
7 I did them no wrong, but they laid a trap for me.I did them no wrong, but they dug a pit to catch me.8 So let sudden ruin come upon them!Let them be caught in the trap they set for me!Let them be destroyed in the pit they dug for me.
Psalms 35:7-8
