We always think of persecution as a bad thing. Maybe it’s God’s way of spreading the Gospel to people who would never hear it unless it happened. Maybe it’s an opportunity to be a spokesman for God to someone who has never heard or seen the Gospel on display. Look at how many times the Apostle Paul was persecuted. Each time he boldly proclaimed the Gospel. This persecution brought Truth into the presence of those who would’ve never heard it before. Look at China, the Gospel is raging through that country like a ravenous Fire. People there are willing to die for their faith, than live an unproductive life. Persecution might just be God’s way of furthering the Gospel in a society that has lost its way, or is just starting to form. It’s His way to re-ignite a fire that just smolders, due to lack of attention. Either way, it might just be God’s way of igniting the fire of regenerated souls. Think about it, don’t allow your wood to get wet (become complacent). Persecution just might be your opportunity to tell your persecutors about Jesus.
9 “When these things begin to happen, watch out! You will be handed over to the local councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are My followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about Me.10 For the Good News must first be preached to all nations.11 But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
