This proverb is self-explanatory. Yet fewer and fewer people put it into practice, then wonder why their lives are such a mess. The one thing people don’t know about lies is the fact that you have to keep feeding a lie in order for it to survive. It’s not self-sufficient. That takes work. And when you are willing to work to keep a lie alive it will grow and take over your life. Truth stands on its own. It doesn’t need you to feed it. It too will grow and take over your life as well. The difference is it will protect rather than expose. It will lead you home, to a safe and secure place.
19 Truthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed.
Proverbs 12:19
