You can’t effectively drive forward while constantly looking in your rear view mirror. You can’t live two lives. You must pick one or the other. You’ll either live in the past, not letting go of the security you think it brings. Or you’ll make the decision to let go of the past and move forward. You can plow straight lines, while constantly looking backwards. They’ll be crooked and less productive than straight ones. You can’t be effective trying to live in both worlds. Pick one or the other. If you don’t you won’t be an effective tool in God’s hand.
62 But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:62
