With all the talk and actions of our country‘s attempt at redefining marriage, here we get a glimpse of what a God-centered marriage does for its participants. Naomi is talking to her two daughters-in-law when she tells them, “may the Lord bless you with the security of another marriage”. Think about that for one second. God blesses us with a secure marriage. Marriage brings security. And it’s a blessing. When we redefine marriage with anything other than what God intended, it won’t bring security into the union. And it won’t be a blessing either.
8 But on the way, Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go back to your mothers’ homes. And may the Lord reward you for your kindness to your husbands and to me. 9 May the Lord bless you with the security of another marriage.” Then she kissed them good-bye, and they all broke down and wept.
Ruth 1:8-9
