Judgement is a four-letter Word these days. People say don’t judge. Even unbelievers tell believers that they shouldn’t judge, for the Bible tells us not to. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Jesus said when you judge, do it correctly. Here in John 5, we read more about this judgement topic. Honest, true, and real judgement must have an objective standard. Jesus tells us God is that standard. When we weigh situations in the light of the truth, it will always be correct. We just need to exercise discernment while judging, to be careful not to condemn. That’s God’s job. Our job is to point others to Christ. It starts with a sinner realizing his need of a Savior. Jesus is the forgiveness and salvation every one needs.
30 I can do nothing on My own. I judge as God tells Me. Therefore, My judgment is just, because I carry out the will of the One who sent Me, not My own will.
John 5:30
