You’ve heard the saying, “mind over matter”, well here it is in Biblical form. The body is our house. It’s the residing place of our spirit. Our body is given to us for a fixed number of years. It can endure many hardships, much abuse, and still continue to serve its purpose. We should take care of it the best we can. However, what lives inside, our spirit, needs greater tending to. When the body is sick, it usually heals itself. But when the spirit is crushed, every part of us suffers, which will always lead to physical breakdowns. Prioritize your life. Nurture your spirit, ask God to train you to see spiritually. Maximize your spiritual growth, so when it comes time to move on from this “earthly tent” (as Paul called it), it will be a glorious transition. Oh, the riches and glory God has prepared for those that know and love Him.
14 The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit?
Proverbs 18:14
