If you lack confidence in spreading the Good News of the Gospel, never forget it’s not your eloquent speech that converts a soul, it’s God’s power that does. There are those it will be foolish chatter, and those that it will save. We don’t know who those are, so we preach to all. Never allow yourself to think you have to add more, or tell better stories, the truth of the Gospel stands on its own. It’s one story that never changes, so don’t try to change it by ad-libbing anything to it. As Paul says “preach the Good News”, getting out of the way and letting God do what He does best.
17 For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News–and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power. 18 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:17-18
