History repeats itself. It may take time, but human nature has a short memory. When society believes something is wrong and they do everything to remove the memory of it (like removing statues in the name of political correctness), it’s only a matter of time before the absence breeds ignorance. This eventually leads to the repetition of history. When we forget our past, it tends to repeat itself. “A society that devotes more time and resources finding ways to destroy its past rather than build for its future will have no past and no future.” History in human behavior repeats itself for reasons, God’s reasons.
14 And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear Him. 15 What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again.
Ecclesiastes 3:14-15
