“I was wrong once, but that’s when I thought I was wrong”. How many people live their entire lives allowing their pride to dictate their every move and action? When they come to the end of it, they realize the reason they are alone and fearing death is because their pride pushed away the only Thing (God) that can save them, all in the name of “being right”. I know this desire well. The older I get, the more I realize it’s better to bite your tongue to save a relationship than stand alone by being right. Yes, I stand for truth (and there are essentials I won’t compromise), but you must pick your battles. God will provide the “right” time to be “right”, but He tells us to do it with gentleness and respect. Something I’m still working on today. Don’t allow your pride to discredit God’s justice by being relentless in your pursuit of “saving face”. Pride is deceitful, Truth defends itself.
8 “Will you discredit My justice and condemn Me just to prove you are right?
Job 40:8
