Prayer is never wasted. There is something to be said about persistence in prayer. God isn’t deaf, your prayers do not fall on deaf ears. The key is always going to God with your concerns and celebrations. When we go to God daily, regardless of our mood or circumstances, when the tough times come (and they will come), we will already be in tune with Him and peace will continue to flow, reinforcing our faith. He will not reject our pleas.
17 He will listen to the prayers of the destitute. He will not reject their pleas. 18 Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord.
Psalms 102:17-18
