Those who worship false idols pollute themselves. When this stagnate refuse becomes intolerable, there’s no justification in blaming God for their woes. God challenges these idols. He says, “present the case for your idols”. God asks to prove they’re real. He tells us that these “false idols” can’t explain our past, and can’t predict our future (like He can). All idols can’t help you. They are worthless and foolish. All idols are as empty as the wind. And yet people still worship them, and base their existence around them. Think about some modern day idols: money, possessions, fame, beauty, relationships, religions, attitudes, desires, to name a few. Now you see how people’s thinking gets so polluted. It all starts to make sense, doesn’t it? When you follow a false idol, your thinking becomes false. It’s Satan’s way of deceiving you, polluting your mind.
21 “Present the case for your idols,”says the Lord.“Let them show what they can do,”says the King of Israel.22 “Let them try to tell us what happened long agoso that we may consider the evidence.Or let them tell us what the future holds,so we can know what’s going to happen.23 Yes, tell us what will occur in the days ahead. Then we will know you are gods.In fact, do anything–good or bad!Do something that will amaze and frighten us.24 But no! You are less than nothing and can do nothing at all. Those who choose you pollute themselves.
Isaiah 41:21-24
8 Not one of your idols told you this. Not one gave any answer when I asked.29 See, they are all foolish, worthless things. All your idols are as empty as the wind.
Isaiah 41:28-29
