With all the emphasis placed on physical looks these days, I just want to mention that vanity has an expiration date (a slow, and sometimes painful, process for those that hold on too tight). Physical beauty is so misunderstood. It’s determined by the viewer, not the person trying to keep it. It lasts a short while, then is gone. And it’s misplaced, on the outside instead of the inside. Physical beauty and vanity don’t last. Cherish it without hanging onto it.
6 A voice said, “Shout!”I asked, “What should I shout?” “Shout that people are like the grass. Their beauty fades as quickly as the flowers in a field.7 The grass withers and the flowers fade beneath the breath of the Lord. And so it is with people.
Isaiah 40:6-7
