In the movie “Forrest Gump” the main character repeats a phrase his mother used to tell him as a child, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get”. This saying is a good example of proverbs 26:10. If an employer hires a fool, everyday will be an adventure, “you’ll never know what you’re gonna get (from them)”. The down side to this is “what you get” won’t be sweet at all. It will be random, and unpredictable, lacking any kind of consistency that brings productivity into play. Your hiring process should be readily thought out, and very thorough. It won’t guarantee you hire the best, but it will reduce the chances of hiring a fool.
10 An employer who hires a fool or a bystander is like an archer who shoots at random.
