Any work done, any time spent, anything done without God, is wasted time. I don’t mean wasted as in worthless, I mean wasted as in “it won’t last”. Unless you have a forward focus, eternity in mind, mentality, everything you do is only temporary. If God is not in it, it’s value won’t last. Your work will burn up. Why we focus on temporary things, I have no idea? Probably because they’re tangible. When we focus on eternal things (people and God’s word), we get a sense of the everlasting; a sense of fulfillment that keeps returning, satisfying our soul. Unless the Lord builds a house, we work in vain....
1 Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted.Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.
Psalms 127:1
