Our biggest undiagnosed problem in America today is the inability to deal with guilt, shame, and regret. You see, sin causes all three of these to infiltrate a person’s life who doesn’t have the ability to deal with sin, which is all of us. People see sin as something that only matters in the end of life. Or they see sin as once forgiven always forgiven, meaning ask once, continue to be forgiven even if they are still practicing the sin. It doesn’t work that way. The ultimate penalty for sin is death, but that death affects every aspect of our lives now. It controls how we think, always having to justify our behavior, choosing methods that only prolong and complicate the process. Dealing with sin is simple. It’s confessing it. Trying to make right the transgression with the offended party. And making it right with God. Forgiveness is only possible through Jesus. God is the only One that can cast our transgressions into the depths of the sea, and be remembered no more. Any other way doesn’t work. Yet we try to conquer sin, or wish it away with other means. Sin destroys relationships, and it destroys lives. It makes living complicated and unbearable at times. It invites anxiety, stress, depression, and hopeless into our lives. The longer it goes on never being rightfully addressed it destroys lives. The answer to sin is Jesus. The problem is, most people don’t know Him. They are deceived in thinking He will restrict their freedom, when in actuality, it is only through Him that we are truly set free. People think that by making Him Lord they will never have fun anymore, but only through Him our joy will be made complete. The prominent and undiagnosed problem in America today is recognizing our sin, and finding a Method that effectively copes with it. The answer for the sin problem is Jesus. It always has been, and always will be. If you’re tired, hopeless, full of anxiety, and often depressed, chances are you’re probably living life by allowing your feelings to dictate your decision making. Feelings will only take you on a rollercoaster ride that never ends. The adrenaline will soon wear off and leave you emotionless. Then the only solution to your hopelessness will leave you with one solution, death. Isn’t that what sin intended to do from the beginning? Stop the cycle, fall on your knees before God and repent. Say, “I’m sorry Lord, fix me”. “I can’t do it myself”. “My pride isn’t worth it”. And He will hear your call, and respond with Grace, resurrecting the life you were meant to have from the beginning. Hope is just one breath away.
31 Then you will remember your past sins and despise yourselves for all the detestable things you did. 32 But remember, says the Sovereign Lord, I am not doing this because you deserve it. O My people of Israel, you should be utterly ashamed of all you have done!
Ezekiel 36:31-32
26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. 27 And I will put My Spirit in you so that you will follow My decrees and be careful to obey My regulations.
Ezekiel 36:26-27
