When I read this proverb I can’t help but think of “modern day protesters”. They spew out a lot of anger, ridicule truth, slam high ranking officials with no sense of shame, and refuse to be tolerant, yet demand respect and tolerance from their opponents. You can’t expect any resolution when you confront a fool, for their minds are darkened. It’s impossible for a fool to accept truth, because he refuses to believe it. Be careful when you have conversations with fools, you won’t leave satisfied.
9 If a wise person takes a fool to court, there will be ranting and ridicule but no satisfaction.
Proverbs 29:9
