Before the Law was given to Moses, God made it very clear what He expects from human behavior when it comes to murder. It’s so important that He made it clear to the only human beings alive on earth, Noah and his family. When I read this account in Genesis chapter 9, I can’t help but think it was Noah’s responsibility to teach it to his family, and their responsibility to teach it to their’s, and so on. It’s been taught for millenniums, and yet we still have people today arguing if abortion is right. If the requirement of the act murder is the murder’s life, should abortion be an issue? Jesus paid the penalty for our sin, and those that accept Him as their Lord and Savior have been purchased from eternal death. You may have committed murder in this life, or maybe hated your brother (the equivalent of murder in your thought life), but Jesus took your punishment and you are now free to live a redeemed life. Jesus is the only answer to sin. If you haven’t surrendered your life to Him, what exactly are your plans when you stand before God on judgement day? We are all guilty of murder....
5 “And I will require the blood of anyone who takes another person’s life. If a wild animal kills a person, it must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die. 6 If anyone takes a human life, that person’s life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in His own image. 7 Now be fruitful and multiply, and repopulate the earth.”
Genesis 9:5-7
