The fear of God is what keeps people from sinning. There’s no other reason. You either have a healthy reverence for Him or you don’t. If you don’t believe this to be true, maybe you need to start pursuing God a little more. The more you come to know Him, the deeper your spiritual walk will become, but even more so, your reverence for Him will develop like it should. An authentic relationship with God is the defining characteristic of a transformed life. It’s what’s missing in today’s Church.
19 And they said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen. But don’t let God speak directly to us, or we will die!”20 “Don’t be afraid,” Moses answered them, “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of Him will keep you from sinning!”21 As the people stood in the distance, Moses approached the dark cloud where God was.
