One of the benefits of walking with God is that integrity acts as a barrier that protects its possessor. It’s almost like wearing crampons on your boots when treading in icy fields. The spikes on the bottom grip the ice, preventing the traveler from slipping and falling. God has a way of protecting those who walk humbly in obedience with Him. Integrity has no holidays. But it has a Sabbath. Those who do not fear God, or lack integrity, travel through the ice fields with no crampons, and thus slip and fall many times through the journey. Having integrity matters, especially when it comes to important things, like how you treat others. And it’s only obtainable by asking God to extend His mercy and grace to you. Pursuing God isn’t easy, but what’s the alternative? I’d rather see the beauty of the winter wonderland with solid footing, than not be able to take it all in because I can’t stand still long enough to appreciate the view.
9 People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will slip and fall.
Proverbs 10:9
