I know I mention pride a lot. The reason I do is because it is the #1 cause of 99.9% of our problems. We bring trouble upon ourselves more than we think. When you see someone trying to correct you, and you react defensively, it just proves negative effects pride has on those who nurture it. When someone corrects you, we need to focus on the truth in their words. If it’s true, take it in, analyze it, and apply it to your life. What’s not true, let it go. Act as if it were never said. As I’ve always told myself, “discipline yourself, so no one else has to”. “It’s stupid to hate correction”, words straight from the mouth of one of the wisest men to ever live.
1 To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.
