Here’s a thought that probably has never crossed your mind: people don’t want anything to do with Jesus, because they fear Him. This fear can range from actual fear of His presence to fear of having to change the way they live. It’s the proper response we all have towards God. The only difference between a believer and the unbeliever is the believer has heard the voice from his Master, “don’t be afraid”. Those that have a relationship with God have heard His voice, and thus know He is the One that loves them. So the next time you see a person act out in rebellion towards Jesus, remember, you can introduce them to the Truth, the One that says, “Don’t be afraid”.
37 And all the people in the region of the Gerasenes begged Jesus to go away and leave them alone, for a great wave of fear swept over them.So Jesus returned to the boat and left, crossing back to the other side of the lake.
Luke 8:37
