Here’s a principle that has been forgotten by most. For those that pursue God, they will be given more understanding, and for those that abandon God, what little understanding they have will be taken away. When we truly worship God, He reveals more of Himself to us, because He sees how much we want to know Him. For those that deny Him, He makes sure that they are not exposed to experiences that might make them question His existence (for this would be even more condemning to them). So the next time you see some “wacky politician” wanting to pass a bizarre bill that totally lacks common sense, or some heinous crime committed, remember, those people are denying God, so their understanding has been taken away. You can never get too much of God. That’s why we are to constantly pursue Him on a daily basis. Once we know Him, we tell others, because He makes that much difference in our lives.
16 “No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.17 For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.18 “So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to My teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”
Luke 8:16-18
